Louis Raemaekers (April 6, – J ) was a Dutch painter and editorial cartoonist for the Amsterdam newspaper De Telegraaf during World War I, noted for his anti-German stance.

Early life. He was born and grew up in Roermond, Netherlands during a period of political and social unrest in the city, which at that time formed the battleground between Catholic clericalism and liberalism.

Raemaekers had started his career as an art teacher and illustrator, but at the age of thirty-nine, he was offered a job as a political cartoonist for the Dutch newspaper Algemeen worked there for three years before moving to the country's largest daily morning newspaper De Telegraaf.

Raemaekers was a pacifist and his cartoons frequently expressed his pacifist views.
